Alexis Archambault

Educational Therapist and Reading Specialist

I'm no stranger to dyslexia as I grew up in a family with 2 dyslexics. I learned that reading isn't always easy and it takes a lot of work to thrive in a school setting when your brain doesn't fit in the traditional school mold. Reading is hard! It requires you to know individual sounds, groups of sounds, rules of those sounds, when those sounds don't play by those rules and how to put them together...and that's just single syllable decoding!

My favorite part about my job is learning the individual students strengths and areas of growth and creating a trusting relationship with them. That's when the reading magic can really happen. When students feel empowered and confident with their reading, spelling and writing, I know I've done my job.

Julie Erickson

National Board Certified Teacher and Educational Therapist

Although I grew up in New Jersey, my teaching journey truly took shape—and has thrived—here in California. After earning my degree from the University of Michigan, I followed the call of sunny beaches and pursued my teaching credential at the University of San Diego. My passion for education led me to deepen my expertise with a Master’s degree from SDSU and achieve National Board Certification, reflecting my commitment to professional growth.

For the past 20 years, I’ve been an elementary classroom teacher, working with students across all grade levels, from ages 5 to 11.

Whether guiding young learners just beginning their reading journey or supporting older students facing challenges with literacy, I’ve dedicated my career to fostering academic progress at every stage. My studies in the Science of Reading and Orton-Gillingham methods have helped me better understand how students with dyslexia process information, fueling my passion for helping struggling readers unlock their potential.

I believe in creating strong relationships that motivate students, identifying their unique strengths, and building upon them to ensure success. My ultimate goal is to help your child develop confidence in their abilities and inspire self-motivation for lifelong learning. I’m excited to partner with you and your child on this journey—let’s get started!

Education Specialist and M.Ed.

I’ve always been passionate about education, especially reading and writing, and I knew from a young age that I wanted to work as a teacher. I grew up and attended schools in San Diego before moving to Pennsylvania for college. After earning my B.A. in English from Villanova University in 2018, I received my Master’s in Teaching from the University of Portland in 2020. I taught 5th grade for 4 years in Seattle, and then moved back home to San Diego to be closer to family and the sun, where I taught 2nd grade for 2 years.

As a classroom teacher certified in both Washington and California and trained in the science of reading, I've seen first hand how crucial early intervention is and how much success students can find when they have the right support. It is my goal to be that support to my students and to provide them not only with the education and information they need, but also with the self-esteem, motivation, and organizational skills that will help carry them throughout many of life's challenges. I’m so excited to transition into educational therapy where I can work more closely with students, personalizing my approach to meet their unique needs and strengths. Every student deserves to feel like school is an opportunity for growth, not an insurmountable challenge, and I'm excited to be a part of that journey for your child!
